I just read this article on The Gospel Coalition blog:
Massachusetts Eliminates Gender Distinctions in Public Schools
This does not surprise me at all. I am not shocked or confused by this. It does, however, break my heart.
Having lived in Massachusetts for four years, I learned a few things about happenings in that commonwealth:
- years ago they were observing “Homophobia Week” (now called Anti-Homophobia Week), where students are indoctrinated towards a pro-homosexual ethic–without their parents’ knowledge.
- Each year during “gay-pride week,” Boston Mayor Tom Menino hosts a “Gay Prom” for high school students in homosexual relationships–yes, on tax-payer dollars.
- For several years now the RMV in Mass has allowed each driver to choose one’s gender on a driver’s license. It just requires a simple form.
- in 2006 Focus on the Family hosted a Love Won Out event. More than a thousand protesters gathered outside the historic Tremont Temple church, yelling “shut it down,” and carrying signs and coffins. The police had to close Tremont Streed (a major street that runs next to the Boston Common).
I have been told that pro-homosexual groups spend a lot of money and effort to make Massachusetts a kind of beachhead in their war to change morality relating to gender in the United States. Their plan seems to be working.
Pray for our country. Pray for God’s people, in Massachusetts and elsewhere. Pray for the lost being swept along with this broken morality.
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. ~Romans 1:28-32, ESV
