August 2020 Update
Current Project Status
This month, we completed several activities to allow us to move forward with breaking ground later this fall.
The Windsor Classroom Building Project Erosion and Sedimentation Pollution Control Plan was reviewed by the Chester County Conservation District and found to be adequate.
Our architect (Cornerstone) updated drawings to reflect a phased approach for the academy’s new administration office area. Our general contractor (Horst) is currently developing the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) accounting for this change. We do expect a price reduction based on these changes.
Our civil engineer (Ludgate) submitted the updated Land Development Plans to the Township Engineer for review in preparation for upcoming meetings with the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
Finally, to help the schools plan how they can use the property during construction, the building was staked out by a surveyor and a site meeting was held on August 25th with the Academy, Preschool, Civil Engineer, and General Contractor to understand the best and safest locations for school functions like the playground.
What’s Ahead in September
- Final Land Development Plans will be presented to the Township Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
- Congregational vote on the overall (revised) construction cost which will be based on the Academy’s new administration office area phased approach as previously discussed.
- Preparation for construction of the new playground.
