April 2019 Update
Current Project Status
On Sunday, April 7th, the elders, deacons, and their wives gathered together to launch our capital campaign. The leadership luncheon was a great time of fellowship and key preparation for the congregational lunch set for Sunday, May 5th. Please be in prayer for our leadership as they seek the Lord’s leading in this first wave of financial commitments towards our project.
Our campaign targets 5 groups (our church family, Academy families, Preschool families, the community, and future families due to church growth). We ask for prayer for each of these segments to be open to God’s leading in how best to contribute to building up our community of faith. It is not only about finances, but also evangelizing and discipling. Money, time, and energy need to be committed to this cause. The Egg Hunt is a perfect example of how our Windsor community joins together to accomplish God’s work.
This month we also received comments from the Township and the County regarding our preliminary land development plan. We met with our civil engineer to review and address these comments. The package is currently being revised to address most of the comments; however, we plan to meet with the Township at the next Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, May 9th. We will discuss and clarify our proposed responses for a few outstanding comments regarding policy for: conditional use of the new building, traffic, building and landscaping requirements and stormwater management. We ask for continued prayer that Windsor Baptist and the Township may find amicable solutions for these outstanding comments that will allow us to move forward with our final land development plan this summer.
The Academy and Preschool leadership are working to determine what new playground equipment will need to be purchased. An appeal will be made to school families to fund these new playgrounds.
What’s Ahead in May
The contractor selection committee welcomed Rick Bassler and Jim Depp to assist with the selection of Design Build Contractors. This committee is currently reviewing the prequalification packages from six potential contractors.
The goal for May is to narrow down the six potential contractors to a select few who will then be asked to make a presentation. We ask for continued prayer that we will pick the contractor that the Lord has already selected.
