We will be collecting and packing shoe boxes this year for the Operation Christmas Child.
- A video will present what packing a shoe box is all about. You can pick up a packing list every week as to ideas for age groups.
October 13 and 20
– Bring in school supplies such as small notebooks that’ll fit in a shoe box, soft backpacks that fold up easily, pens, paper, erasers, pencil sharpeners, solar powered calculators, dry paints with brush, paper clips, scissors, rubber bands.
October 27 and November 3
– Bring in hygiene items such as soap, washcloths, toothbrushes (NO TOOTHPASTE, no liquids), tweezers, Band-Aids, alcohol wipes, dental floss. Also bring in clothing
that will scrunch into a shoe box but still leave room for other item, headbands, socks, shirts.
November 10 and 17
– bring in toys (NO WAR TOYS), games, harmonica, toy cars, dolls, etch-a-sketch, useful items such as a fishing kit or sewing kit, radio with battery, calculator. Bring a picture of yourself to include in the boxes you are going to pack.
November 17 – Lunch and Packing Party
in the basement immediately following church. When packing, feel free to write a note. We provide paper with pre-printed pictures for your kids to color and put in the box. The children on the receiving end treasure those notes for years. You can also track which country your box goes to if you take your box home and use the “Follow Your Box” online, pay the $9 shipping fee, and print out the label. Then bring it back to Cilla Depp that evening or during the week.
